Although various redevelopment projects are undertaken all over the country, the development only has an effect within the construction area and does not relate to the planned MACHIZUKURI of the developed urban district (especially station areas), and thus problems of an expanded environmental gap between a redevelopment and a surrounding area are arising.
Furthermore, there are not just a few cases where the environment of a developed urban district is destroyed by a major redevelopment project.
In order to overcome these problems, we are conducting research on the theme "Reorganization of harmonised urban districts", which focuses on the agreement formation process between redevelopers and residents and the role of redevelopment projects
We are seeking strategic methods for redevelopment projects by proposing spatial plans to local cities, and conducting various research on redevelopment projects such as the establishment of a Master Plan process, the analyses of pedestrian movement in urban YUDO-KUKAN, and the relationships among the activities of local shop organizations.
