This research is about Urban Residences in Tokyo whose buildings were built from the time of the DOJYUNKAI Apartment Housing Estate (established in 1924) to that of the Public Rental Housing Estate of the Showa 40s period (1965 to 1974).

Various research on the housing estates was conducted, of which the common points are "Transformations of the theoretical plan for the systematized design of a public housing complex" and "Transformation of the initial room plan accompanying changes in the life stages of residentsﾓ

Based on this research, we have proposed a plan for MACHIZUKURI related to rehousing within a local area and gradual rebuilding in accord with the residents' life stages. We would like to apply these methods to the future plan for further MACHIZUKURI
